Delete your TotMediX account
You can delete your TotMediX account, and the information stored with it, at any time. You do not need to install the app or sign in to read this page. There are two ways to do it.
Option 1: Delete your account in the app #
This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.
- Open the TotMediX app on your phone and sign in.
- From your Dashboard, tap the profile icon in the top right corner to open your profile settings.
- Under Your Account, tap Edit Profile.
- Tap the delete (bin) button in the top right corner of the Edit Profile screen.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears. Deletion cannot be undone.
Option 2: Ask us to delete it for you #
If you no longer have the app installed, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email us at info@totmedix.com and ask us to delete your account.
Please write from the email address on your TotMediX account, so that we can verify the request is really from you. If you cannot, tell us the email address the account uses and we will confirm your identity another way before deleting anything. We will action your request within a reasonable time and confirm by email once it is done.
You can use the same address to ask us to delete something narrower than your whole account (for example a single prescription image, a child's profile, or previously scanned prescriptions) without closing your account.
What gets deleted #
Deleting your account removes the information held under it, including:
- Your profile: your name, email address, phone number, and your role
- Child profiles you administer, including name, date of birth, and the health details recorded on them
- Medication data: medication names, dosages, schedules, and dose history
- Symptom logs, including any photos attached to them
- Vaccination records
- Prescription images and the text extracted from them
How long it takes #
These are the retention periods set out in the data retention section of our Privacy Policy:
- If you delete your account, we retain your information for 30 days, after which it is permanently deleted, except where we are required to retain it for longer by law.
- If your subscription lapses and is not renewed, we retain your information for 12 months, giving you the chance to resubscribe without losing your child's health history. We will notify you before this period ends. After 12 months without renewal, your information is permanently deleted, except where required to retain it by law.
- Prescription images and the text extracted from them are kept with your child's medication records and follow the same timeframes. You can delete an individual prescription at any time, which removes both the image and its extracted text.
- Images (prescription photos and profile pictures) are stored using Firebase Storage, which has a default soft-delete period of 7 days before permanent removal.
We also instruct our third-party service providers to delete any personal information they process on our behalf once it is no longer needed, in accordance with our agreements with them.
Worth knowing before you delete #
Deleting your account is permanent. Once the retention period above has passed, your child's health history cannot be recovered. If you only want to stop using TotMediX for a while, you do not have to delete anything; you can simply sign out.
Cancelling a paid subscription is separate. Subscriptions are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, not by us, so deleting your TotMediX account does not cancel them. Cancel through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, as described in section 5 of our Terms and Conditions.
Your rights. Deletion is one of several rights you hold over your information, and your child's information, under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law. The rest are set out in your rights over your data.
